Jerry Andres, P.T., Director of Physical Therapy - received his degree from the University of Montana in Missoula.  As a strong manual therapist, Jerry has extensive training and continuing education in treating the shoulder, knee and spine.  He also specializes in custom foot orthotics (using the casting method).  Jerry has experience in working with all age groups and diagnoses including sports injuries, work injuries, chronic conditions and pre-post operative care.
 

 

Michael Whitney, PT, has over 24 years of physical therapy experience. His training comes from the University of North Dakota School of Medicine Physical Therapy. Michael has worked as an ergonomics and back school specialist, is certified in strengthening, and has experience with aquatic therapy. He enjoys teaching each patient how they can better help care for themselves. Michael strives to continually develop his manual therapy skills to help hasten each patient’s recovery through evidence-based treatment and advances in technology.
 

 

Sasha Speer, DPT, graduated with her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Eastern Washington University in June 2008, where she gained professional experience with outpatient, acute, and rehab settings; having mentored with specialists in orthopedics, sports medicine, women’s health, and aquatic therapy. In addition, Sasha has participated in and presented research at the American College of Sports Medicine National Conference. She makes a concentrated effort to treat each patient as an individual and tailor their care accordingly. She is fluent in both Spanish and English, and has treated a wide variety of individuals from different cultural backgrounds. 

 
Tom Lamphier, PT
, graduated from the University of Montana with a Masters in Physical Therapy in 1999. He also has an Undergraduate BS in chemistry, a Minor in Physiology and a Masters in Biochemistry. Tom has worked in the Coeur d’Alene area since graduation in all settings: outpatient work for six years, home health for two-three years, and in skilled nursing facilities while emphasizing neurological rehabilitation. Tom spends his free time skiing, snow-boarding, training for Ironman, and various other racing involving three-sports.
 

 

Wendy Stredwick, LMT, P.T. Aide - Wendy assists with patient treatment as directed by the physical therapists at Lakewood Physical Therapy.  Much of Wendy’s experience in the physical therapy field focuses around athletic training and sports therapy.  She has many years of experience with overseeing athletes’ workout regimens.  Wendy is a licensed massage therapist currently enrolled at Spokane Falls Community College pursuing a Physical Therapy Assistant degree.

 

Mindy Newby, ATC, P.T. Aide—Mindy came to Lakewood Physical Therapy shortly  after graduating from Indiana Wesleyan University where she obtained a degree in Athletic Training as well as a minor in Biblical Studies.  She also recently received her national Athletic Training Certification.  Coming from a family of Ironmen, she loves to help people enjoy and maintain healthy lifestyles.  She also has experience at Indiana Wesleyan University, Taylor University, Gonzaga University, and Coeur d’Alene High School.

 

Mijken Nelson, Patient Rep/Aide, graduated from Boise State University
this past May, where she obtained a bachelors degree in Exercise Science and Fitness Evaluation. Mijken was born and raised in Coeur D’ Alene where most of her family resides. Mijken is interested in not only promoting healthy life-styles as a personal trainer, but is also interested in the rehabilitation process of physical therapy. Her goal is overall health promotion from personal training to aiding in the rehab process in people of all ages.
 

Kathy DiBiase, Patient Care Coordinator—Kathy joined the staff at Lakewood Physical Therapy in March 2007.  She brings with her over 11 years experience working in a physical therapy clinic as well as many years working as a medical assistant/radiology technician.  She coordinates all patient care, assists with administrative functions and day to day operations of Lakewood Physical Therapy.

What can I expect at Lakewood Physical Therapy?
• Your therapist will evaluate your condition based on your doctors diagnosis and your signs and symptoms to alleviate your pain and improve your function.
• You will be treated with dignity and honesty.
• You will be a partner in your own care, so we will listen to what you say.
• We will do whatever we can to hasten your recovery from injury and illness.
• Your Doctor will be informed of your progress on a frequent basis and you are encouraged to give your physician feedback about your care in physical therapy.
• We expect you to take an active part in your recovery by following your exercises and instructions faithfully. If you have problems with an exercise, tell your therapist as soon as possible.

Do I need a Doctor’s referral?  How much will it cost?

A Doctor’s referral is only needed if your insurance requires.  You can know your insurance benefits by calling the customer service number listed on the back of your insurance card.
